Insight of the Day: Consumers aren’t interested in 2024’s ‘top fashion trends’, report claims

In a new report, independent British fashion brand Blakely, shares the results of a 2,000 respondent survey which found that most of the UK’s 18-35 year-old shoppers have no intention of following this year’s top fashion trends. But what do retailers need to know?

58% of those surveyed state that they have no intention of following fashion trends in 2024.

75% are looking to ‘buy better’, prioritising quality and timelessness over staying on-trend.

85% are prioritising comfort dressing, a statistic that comes as less surprise to those aware that online interest in ‘athleisure’ has risen 25% in the last quarter alone.
