Insight of the Day: Customers are most likely to install shopping apps on this day

Based on the analysis provided by Airship, customers are most likely to install shopping apps on Black Friday, which is the Friday after Thanksgiving. This day has consistently been the top day of the year for consumers to install a new shopping app for more than a decade. During the peak week leading up to Black Friday, there is a significant increase in app installs compared to the weekly average in October. Additionally, six of the top seven peak shopping app install days during 2023 were observed to be between Nov. 19-25.

It's important for retailers to capitalize on this trend by optimizing onboarding experiences and reinforcing value throughout the customer lifecycle. Brands should aim to capture customers' attention during these peak moments and tailor in-app experiences to individual preferences to drive engagement and build long-term loyalty.
