Insight of the Day: 60% of TikTok users would jump to Reels following a ban

0% of TikTok users would switch to Instagram's reels if TikTok were to be banned in their country. Reels is a short-form video feature on Instagram that is similar to TikTok, allowing users to create and share 15-second videos with music and effects.

The survey also found that 78% of users aged 18-24 would switch to Reels in the event of a TikTok ban, while 48% of users aged 55 and older would make the switch. Additionally, 65% of Black and Hispanic users would switch to Reels, compared to 59% of White users.

The potential ban of TikTok in various countries has raised concerns among its users, leading many to consider alternative platforms like Reels. Instagram has been actively promoting Reels as a competitor to TikTok, and it seems that this marketing strategy may be effective in attracting TikTok users if the app were to be banned.
