Insight of the Day: Why Naturium is launching jumbo-sized versions — not minis — of its bestselling products

Naturium, the skin-care brand known for its affordability and effective products, is taking a bold approach by launching jumbo-sized versions of its popular items. While many beauty brands focus on mini-sized products for their convenience and travel-friendly nature, Naturium believes that jumbo-sized editions offer more value to consumers.

According to Susan Yara, the founder of Naturium, savvy consumers appreciate getting more for their money. Jumbo-sized products provide an opportunity to deliver that value. Other successful brands, such as Tatcha, Smashbox, and Benefit Cosmetics, have also embraced the jumbo trend with hero products like Dewy Cream, Photo Finish Primer, and Hoola Bronzer. This strategy isn't limited to skincare; hair care brands like Ouai, Briogeo, Verb, and Virtue are also offering jumbo-sized options.

Naturium's Chief Marketing Officer, Michael Kremer, highlights the benefits of jumbo-sized products. Not only do they yield higher profitability for brands, but consumers also enjoy a better cost per fluid ounce. Additionally, from a sustainability perspective, purchasing larger sizes means fewer containers overall.

Currently, Naturium features nine facial products in a jumbo, two-fluid-ounce size. These jumbos are available both on Naturium's direct-to-consumer website and its Amazon storefront. Among them, the bestseller is the Vitamin C Complex Serum, priced at $21 for one fluid ounce and $38 for two fluid ounces. Remarkably, this jumbo-sized serum has experienced significant growth, with sales increasing by 86% year-over-year on Naturium.com and a whopping 272% year-over-year on Amazon. In fact, the jumbo-sized Vitamin C serum accounts for 39% of the brand's total vitamin C business on Naturium's e-commerce site. Naturium has also expanded its jumbo product lineup by introducing six new offerings in the past year.

Keep an eye out for Naturium's upcoming addition: the Dew-Glow Moisturizer SPF 50 in a jumbo size, set to launch at the end of April. With these jumbo-sized options, Naturium aims to provide both value and sustainability to its loyal customers. 🌟
