Music: The Capris – These Streets: Small-Town Dreams with Big Indie Ambition

Why it is trending: The Capris’ “These Streets” is building momentum across the Irish indie scene thanks to its anthemic hooks, heartfelt storytelling, and the band’s fast-growing reputation as one of Northern Ireland’s most exciting young acts.

The Capris are a four-piece indie band from Dungannon, formed by school friends Odhran (lead vocals), Jonny (bass), and Padraic (lead guitar) before later expanding with drummer Delaney O’Neill in 2022. What started as pub and club cover sets evolved into something far more ambitious after a life-changing conversation on a balcony in the Croatian mountains inspired them to officially form the band in August 2018. Drawing major influence from Inhaler, The 1975, and Kings of Leon, The Capris craft soaring indie rock built for both intimate venues and festival stages. In July 2023, they made their festival debut sharing a bill with acts like Scouting for Girls and Sam Ryder, marking a major milestone in their rapid rise.

“These Streets” captures the heart of who The Capris are — nostalgic, ambitious, and rooted in the places that shaped them. The track blends shimmering guitars with driving rhythms and emotive vocals, reflecting both the comfort and restlessness of small-town life. It’s a song about identity, friendship, and chasing something bigger while never forgetting where you came from. With its singalong-ready chorus and youthful urgency, “These Streets” feels like the soundtrack to a band standing on the edge of something much larger.
