Music: Weave – Dirt: Shoepunk, Garbage Noise, and the Power of Imperfection

Weave are a Shoepunk / Garbage Noise quartet from Sheffield, formed in early 2024 by singer/guitarist Tom Littlewood, bassist Zak Broadhead, guitarist Jonah Tibbenham, and drummer Alex Dyball. The band’s sound fuses the texture and haze of shoegaze with the urgency of punk and the rawness of grunge — a collision of distortion, emotion, and defiance.

Emerging from Sheffield’s DIY circuit, Weave have quickly carved out a reputation for their abrasive yet melodic intensity, crafting songs that explore vulnerability, identity, and noise as catharsis. Their live shows are immersive and unpredictable — emotional combustion set to walls of feedback and reverb.

“Dirt” is Weave’s boldest statement yet — a storm of distortion and self-confrontation wrapped in glimmering dissonance. The track captures the feeling of being buried under the weight of expectation and shame, only to claw your way back into the light. Gritty guitars, relentless drums, and Littlewood’s visceral vocal delivery make “Dirt” an anthem of release and renewal.
