Streaming: COBRAH – “Torn”: The Art of Seduction and Self-Destruction

COBRAH (Clara Blom Christiensen) is a Swedish singer, producer, and performance artist whose self-styled “BDSM pop” and “gay workout music” have made her one of the boldest voices in electronic and queer music today. Born in Gothenburg in 1996, COBRAH fuses industrial beats, fetish aesthetics, and unapologetic sexuality into a high-voltage artistic statement. A shapeshifter by nature, she blurs the lines between club culture, performance art, and pure pop provocation.

Her career began with the viral 2018 single “IDFKA”, earning a Swedish Grammy nomination, followed by her 2019 debut EP ICON, inspired by ballroom culture and latex-clad rebellion. COBRAH’s ascent continued through her 2021 self-titled EP and her 2023 full-length debut SUCCUBUS — projects that solidified her as both provocateur and visionary. With a background in musical theater and flute performance (and a brief stint as an elementary school teacher), COBRAH’s evolution from classroom to club queen is as radical as her sound.

“Torn” sees COBRAH at her most emotionally exposed — a collision of sensual energy and existential tension. Driven by pulsating synths and hypnotic rhythm, the track delves into the push-and-pull of pleasure, pain, and self-control. Vocally charged and sonically daring, it captures the essence of COBRAH’s artistry: equal parts dominance and devotion, body and vulnerability.

With “Torn”, COBRAH continues her mission to redefine what pop can be — physical, dangerous, and entirely her own.
