Selve – Desire: Orchestral Alt-Rock Power from a Band Breaking Boundaries

Selve are a six-piece alt-rock collective led by Jabirr Jabirr frontman Loki Liddle, carving a path that feels both culturally grounded and creatively expansive. In the past year alone, Selve have toured nationally with their 12-show Red Desert Dream Tour, taken their sound across the EU and UK on the World Wide Wave Tour, and recorded their sophomore album at the iconic Abbey Road Studios. They celebrated its release with a bold live performance at Bleach Festival, performing the album alongside a 33-piece orchestra — a testament to their scale and vision.

With a national Breaking Into Heaven tour underway — including support slots for Winston Surfshirt and The Delta Riggs, and festival appearances at SXSW Sydney and Lost Paradise — Selve are firmly in ascent.

“Desire” channels the band’s dynamic intensity into something both intimate and widescreen. Driven by layered instrumentation and Liddle’s commanding presence, the track balances emotional vulnerability with expansive, almost orchestral textures.
