Entertainment: Music: Hex Girlfriend: The Joyful Noise of "Trash TV"

Hex Girlfriend is a rave-rock two-piece project consisting of Noah Yorke and James Knott. They began making music on a laptop in a halls room at Goldsmiths University in 2020. The duo was drawn to creating music that prioritized the enjoyment of working together, free from the worry of outside perspectives. They continue to make music in a non-severe yet meaningful way, tightly weaving together electronic wizardry, theatrical live elements, and industrial heaviness.

The song "Trash TV" is a powerful track from the band's catalog that perfectly encapsulates their unique sound. The title, "Trash TV," suggests a critique of mass media or a fascination with low-brow culture. The track's sound is a perfect reflection of this theme, with its chaotic, disorienting atmosphere and a sense of barely controlled chaos. It's a testament to the band’s ability to turn noise into a powerful emotional statement.
